Capital Research Center Welcomes New Education Research Fellow Kali Fontanilla

Who remembers the boggart from the Harry Potter universe? J.K. Rowling taught us – pre-cancellation – that one of the best ways to beat a monster in the closet is to laugh at it. Capital Research Center (CRC) has taken that advice to heart and brought on a new research fellow, teacher, and critic of all things woke, Kali Fontanilla, who has recently gone viral on Twitter with a series of hilarious parody tweets in which she plays, among other things, a very progressive teacher, a character she knows a lot about.

Fontanilla, a former public high school teacher of 15 years, and her husband (also a teacher) have recently launched a fully accredited online school called Exodus Institute to support parents who want to pull their kids from public schools. In her years of teaching, much of that time in California, she witnessed the public school system start down the woke path it’s on and began to fight it, even while still in the middle of it.

Fontanilla’s rebuttal statement to Prop 16 in California helped to stop the push for legal reverse racism and a new extreme version of affirmative action in 2020. She wrote the guide for the BLEXIT Foundation to expose the dangers of Critical Race Theory and has made guest appearances on the Ingraham Angle, NewsMax, and the Dennis Prager Show. Her writing has been featured in several national newspapers and her educational and political commentary videos on social media have accrued millions of views.

CRC is thrilled to have Fontanilla join the team, where she will be researching and working on issues related to education. Read her first blog post, “The SPLC’s Readymade Lessons For Teaching Radicalism in the Classroom” and look for more to come at capitalresearch.org.

The Capital Research Center is a tax-exempt investigative think tank established in 1984 that seeks to expose how organizations are “captured” by interest groups and used to undermine Americans’ freedoms.
