Correcting Vice President Harris’s Lie About Florida’s Black History Curriculum

In her appearance on Fox News, CRC’s Kali Fontanilla corrects Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent lie about Florida’s academic standards. Harris twisted one line—“how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit”—beyond recognition to claim that the standards said that “enslaved people benefitted from slavery.”

Fontanilla observed:

This is a sick political strategy that Vice President Harris is trying to do because she knows that her voters are not going to take the time to actually read the curricula—the Florida standards, which are some of the most extensive standards I’ve seen on teaching black history. … [the Florida Standards are] actually really beautiful standards. She’s taking this one line and misrepresenting it to gaslight her voters.

Fontanilla’s segment begins at 0:40.
