Classical Education in the News

Over the years Capital Research Center’s best-selling book has been “Classical Education” by Gene Veith and Andrew Kern. Their book is an overview of the movement to introduce a “Great Books”-style liberal arts curriculum to elementary and secondary education. The Sunday New York Times Magazine takes note of the classical education movement in its story on New St. Andrews, a college that draws on a similar philosophy and curriculum. The reporter seems quite in awe of a religious college that takes philosophy and theology seriously. Regrettably, her once-over treatment is also a brush-off.
