Arabella Advisors is a for-profit Beltway-bandit consulting firm that has built up a network of a half dozen nonprofits that in turn sponsor hundreds of fake groups that look very grassroots. For example, two of these—Secure Michigan Elections and Floridians for a Fair Shake—are wonderful grassroots groups except actually they’re really just websites run out of this Beltway-bandit firm. But they take in billions of dollars, and they are extremely influential in our politics across pretty much every issue area.
