Obama’s Make-Believe $2 Trillion in Health Care Savings

Presumably to create the appearance that everyone is backing President Obama’s plan for universal government-run health care, the president said today that a coalition of several major health lobbying groups are somehow magically going to “over the next 10 years — from 2010 to 2019 — they are pledging to cut the rate of growth of national health care spending by 1.5 percentage points each year — an amount that’s equal to over $2 trillion.”

Details are not forthcoming.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius also was not willing to fill in the blanks about Obama’s health care savings fantasy.
