The Suspicious Rise of Brian Fallon, the Left’s Narrative Czar
Recently, headlines emerged suggesting that presidential cabinet positions for a Kamala Harris administration had already been decided, if Vice President Harris defeats President Donald Trump this coming November. Lots of big names for important positions drew the media’s attention, but one likely pick—Brian Fallon as White House Press Secretary—drew far less attention than it probably deserved.
It might not be a name that many know, but Fallon has worn a lot of very important hats over the years that have earned him lots of powerful friends.
Fallon’s Resume
In the past he has worked as a press aide to John Kerry’s 2004 campaign, 2006 campaign press secretary for Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), chief spokesman for Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) for many years, director of public affairs for Attorney General Eric Holder during the “fast and furious” and contempt of Congress scandals, press secretary for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, executive director and founder of Demand Justice until 2023, and most recently campaign communications director for then-vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
It’s a wildly impressive list of employers given where those employers stand today and the power that they now wield:
- John Kerry was appointed the first ever special presidential envoy for climate, a position he left only recently.
- Menedez remains in the Senate (for the remainder of August) after being convicted of being a foreign agent for Egypt and taking gold bars as bribes.
- Schumer is now Senate Majority Leader Schumer and the overseer of the Democratic Party’s largest Super PACs.
- Eric Holder is now a powerful senior Attorney at Convington & Burlin.
- Demand Justice reportedly hand-selected Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Justice Ketanji-Brown Jackson.
- Last but certainly not least, Vice President Kamala Harris, whose team Fallon joined in September 2023, has since been elevated to the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee without a single primary vote being cast.
With a resume like that it was confusing, at the time, that Fallon was willing to leave an immensely powerful group like Demand Justice to play second fiddle as communications director for an unpopular vice president in a presidential campaign that seemed doomed in the polls. Fallon is the Michael Jordan of Democrat communications, he’s not the sort of player you recruit to ride the bench, unless you know that the starters are retiring soon.
Curious Timing
Since then, the cogs have turned suspiciously well in Fallon’s favor, making it seem possible the Fallon did have prior knowledge that Biden might withdraw from the election. The timing is suspect for a number of reasons.
First, Fallon’s long-time boss, Chuck Schumer, reportedly played a pivotal role in convincing President Biden to withdraw from the 2024 election. Second, Demand Justice, the “dark money” group Fallon created, announced a $10 million advocacy offensive targeting the Supreme Court just days after Biden’s disastrous debate performance that precipitated his withdrawal, even though the group’s most recent financial disclosures show it had less than $4 million in the bank. Third, the supposed Supreme Court ethics scandal, a narrative that Demand Justice spent years helping to fabricate, has become one of the central issues of the election thanks to a coordinated media smear campaign and a surprise endorsement of Supreme Court term limits from President Biden, just days after his withdrawal. To top it all off, recent reports suggest that Fallon’s other former boss, Eric Holder, was hurriedly brought in to vet potential nominees for VP, an important process that Fallon was no-doubt deeply involved in.
There are simply too many coincidences to not scrutinize the circumstances of Fallon’s sudden rise to power, especially now that he has reportedly been promised an important cabinet position. Fallon ought to be asked what he knew and when about the events leading to Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 election. Likewise, Demand Justice should be asked whether its conveniently timed media blitz was in any way coordinated with its founder.
