Obama College Article Mysteriously Surfaces

Two Sets of Books (Patti Villacorta) noticed that an article Barack Obama wrote back at Columbia University somehow surfaced.

The 1983 article from the Sundial, “Breaking the War Mentality,” is pretty, errr, well, sophomoric. It begins:

Most students at Columbia do not have first hand knowledge of war. Military violence has been a vicarious experience, channeled into our minds through television, film, and print.

I think you get the picture. The piece is drowning in an ocean of platitudes. Why can’t we all just get along? Why do we need nuclear weapons? Yada yada yada.

No wonder the article was concealed for so many years. It’s embarrassing.
