Community Organizers Aren’t Organized
Canvassers for groups like the ACLU and Sierra Club are sick of demanding higher pay for everyone else but not getting any themselves, reports the Portland Mercury. In Portland, Oregon, they are trying to organize a union to make demands on their employers.
“They call it a grassroots organization, but when you see all the numbers and how much they’re bringing in, you see it’s an elite lobbying group,” says one employee of the Public Interest Research Group (PIRG).
