About the DOGE Files
Welcome to the DOGE Files, an ongoing project to document some of the most egregious examples of the federal government’s careless use of your tax dollars.
As longtime experts on the American nonprofit sector, the Capital Research Center (CRC) has embarked on a massive project to comb through billions of dollars of federal spending records to identify the wasteful, ludicrous, and downright awful nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) receiving massive grants from the U.S. government. We hope to inform the public how their money is used and to identify waste that legislators and federal officials can eliminate.
On January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump issued an executive order establishing the Department of Government Efficiency.
Note: Below are links to CRC research, organized by government department, issue area, and grant recipient. Commentary and media are listed next. Greyed-out links indicate research still to come. Links to the newest items are in red text.
