The Oath Matters

President Barack Obama and Chief Justice John Roberts agree with your humble narrator that the presidential oath of office matters. (See blog post from yesterday)

During the inaugural ceremony yesterday both Obama and Roberts badly mangled the presidential oath so this evening Obama took the oath again in private, the Politico reports.

White House counsel Greg Craig said Obama took the oath again “out of an abundance of caution.”
