House Enviro Committee Unlikely To Survive Next Congress

The House Energy Independence and Global Warming Select Committee, a Nancy Pelosi-created shop dedicated to helping usher climate change legislation through Congress, may be among the first casulaties of November 2nd’s GOP tidal wave. THE HILL’s Energy and Environment blog quoted an unnamed House GOP leadership aid:

[T]he aide said it is unlikely the select committee will be in place
when Republicans take over the House because they are
looking to reduce the number of panels overall.

“It’s going to be very difficult for that committee to remain, and I
think it probably won’t,” the leadership aide said, especially “if
we’re going to really put our money where our mouth is and run things
differently.”
