Monster Winter Predicted For 2010-2011

Break out the thermal knickers:  According to reports, “Forecasters say this winter could be the coldest Europe has seen in the last 1,000 years.”  The reason, apparently, has something to do with a  recent weakening of the Gulf Stream, reducing its capacity to carry warm water from the tropics to northern waters to counteract Arctic air.

If you think another brutal winter may embarrass climate activists, never fear:  Global-warming cultists seem to have learned from their 2009 public relations debacle which saw blizzards dwarf the United Nations COP15 international climate conference at Copenhagen (hilariously detailed in Pat Michael’s article for this month’s issue of Green Watch).  They have still scheduled a climate conference in the dead of winter, December 2010, but they at least this time have the sense to meet in the balmy climes of Cancun, Mexico.
