Green Groups Praise Obama Statement

Left-wing environmentalist groups are hailing President-elect Barack Obama’s vague promise earlier this week to open a “new chapter in American leadership on climate change.”

Said Eileen Claussen, president of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change:

This is exactly the kind of leadership the country and the world have been waiting for. President-elect Obama’s statement makes clear that he’s ready to roll up his sleeves and deliver the action that is needed to protect our climate, our economy, and our national security. He is setting the right goals and choosing the right policies.

The National Wildlife Federation and the World Wildlife Fund followed suit.

They’ll no doubt keep the praise coming in future years as the implementation of the policies they favor precipitate an unprecedented energy crisis and another Great Depression.
