More disrespect for the poor from the Left


Over at PhilanthropyDaily.com, I have another piece on the Left’s curious disrespect for the poor. In this case, I’m puzzled:

Why doesn’t the Left trust the poor to choose their children’s schools? 

Of course, some on the left have figured out the poor deserve to have more school choice. Check out this story from Reason TV:

Yes, that really is Sen. Ted Cruz, perhaps the most bellicose conservative in Congress, with his fellow Texan, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who sports a lifetime American Conservative Union rating of 3 out of 100.

Sen. Cruz declared that “school choice is the civil rights issue of the 21st century,” and Jackson Lee told the crowd that limiting parents’ opportunities was an injustice to all students, “and I’m going to fight that injustice.”
