AFP ad highlights wasteful “green energy” spending

Americans for Prosperity unveiled a new “Wasteful Spending” ad taking the Obama administration to task for wasting taxpayer money.

The ad states that billions of stimulus dollars have been doled out to foreign companies.  Money has gone to so-called green energy projects outside the U.S.   The ad (which may be viewed here) is scheduled to run in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, and Virginia over the coming two weeks.

“President Obama’s misguided political ideology of picking winners and losers in the marketplace continues to waste billions of taxpayer dollars by bankrolling politically-favored energy companies,” said Slade O’Brien, AFP-Florida State Director.  “What’s worse is that many of these companies aren’t even in America, handing over American tax dollars to foreign countries.”

“This ad is not a one-time event – it’s one piece of a comprehensive public education and grassroots advocacy effort,” said AFP President Tim Phillips.  “Politicians who oppose fiscal accountability, job creation, and commonsense energy solutions should take notice, because taxpayers certainly will.”
