AFF names new executive director

A press release dated June 20 announces that America’s Future Foundation has appointed a new executive director:

WASHINGTON—America’s Future Foundation today is pleased to announce the addition of Roger Custer as its executive director.

As executive director, Custer will fundraise, market the organization to its target audience, and manage AFF’s staff. He will also work with the board of directors, as well as AFF’s advisors and members, to strengthen the organization’s existing programs and to develop new ones.

Roger Custer recently graduated from George Mason University with a master’s degree in public administration and a concentration in nonprofit management.  Previously, he was Conference Director at Young America’s Foundation, where he managed the nation’s leading conservative student conferences and assisted campus activists.

“There are plenty of conservative and libertarian organizations for college students, but only America’s Future Foundation prepares young professionals in their 20s and 30s for leadership positions—call it stage two,” Custer said. “I’m very excited to build upon AFF’s 15 years of success.”

“We are honored to have Roger join the organization as Executive Director,” said AFF Chairman of the Board Kmele Foster. “Roger’s talent, energy, and determination make him exactly the right person to lead AFF toward continued success.” The board of directors is also pleased to announce that Custer will participate in the Koch Associate Program for the 2011-2012 year.

America’s Future Foundation is an innovative and growing organization that identifies and develops talented young people who will play important roles in the conservative movement. Its mission is focused on helping bright liberty-minded people in their mid-20s and 30s to build their social networks and become better at what they do so that they can move up to leadership positions quickly—whether they work in journalism, policy, business, academia, or the arts. AFF employs an operating strategy of self-development where participants have an opportunity to help plan and implement programs directly.
